For the past two years I have worked for Salar Nederland and helped them with their User Experience design and Interaction design for SalarFusion. Salar has provided small businesses and accountancy firms with pay-rolling software for years and when I was hired they were getting ready to release a completely newly designed cloud-based SaaS beta version of their easy to use software. I was hired to update the older interface design for the beta-release and to design a consistent interface.
I frequently enroll in hackathons and workshops, to learn new skills, meet new people and get inspired. I thoroughly enjoy doing this and sometimes it leads to funny stuff like the “LoBOTomy” chatbot my team built at a hackathon organised by the VPRO Medialab. For this project I was assigned the role of “project leader” and designed the business rules, requirements and dialogs for the bot.
“Twitterding” is an experimental app using the Twitter API, I designed and coded for the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. It ran in the cafeteria on one of the information screens and showed tweets searching by hashtags defined in an admin console.
During my studies at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences I participated in several large projects and competitions including:
- A Fortis ASR challenge to get Millenials involved in insurance in which we won first place (find the documentation here)
- The Microsoft Imagine Cup (games) for which we designed a serious game distributing microloans in 3rd world countries, we won 2nd place in the Dutch national competition (find the documentation here)
- My graduation thesis on dialog immersion and bots in serious games for Ranj (find my thesis here)
